The History of A2Z Mentoring

A2Z’S TIMELINE

history

2004-2006

A2Z started in East Windsor in the fall of 2004. It began with just 4 students and 4 mentors meeting once a week. From there, A2Z took off, quickly expanding to two sessions a week by the spring of 2005.
By 2006, the program had grown to three sessions a week, all in East Windsor and Hightstown.

2007-2010

A2Z continued to grow during these years, expanding to Ewing in 2007. That year, there were just 14 students and 12 mentors who were a part of A2Z, but by 2010, there were over 60 volunteers and
over 60 students participating in the program. The number of tutoring
sessions grew accordingly. By 2010, A2Z conducted 6 sessions per week.

2011-2016

A2Z continues to grow. In 2011, the program began holding sessions in Lawrenceville, expanding to 8 mentoring sessions in total. In 2012, A2Z surpassed 100 mentors and 100 students and has not stopped growing. Today, we have over 120 volunteers and 100 students, and form an integral part of the local community.
